Problem Statement: A Large Equipment based Automation & Solution implementation company in assembling, manufacturing, implementation, and multi-vendors dealing for sub-assemblies & raw material provision had a pain area where the customer need to a purchase forecast report that should give a BOM explosion view of an open Sales Orders with more than 1000+ line items and in addition to that they also wanted to get the wholistic view of the multiple add-on information for each line items to support their planning process.

To this requirement, Kāladi consulting has developed a downloadable Excel Report with the support of a well-known data structure logic of Recursive Functional Loop that has been developed with the Server-side Suite Script to do a detailed level of BOM explosion programmatically so that any number of Assemblies and Item groups present in the Sales Orders could be drilled down from 1^st level to n^th level in the BOM hierarchy and all the sub-elements could be fetched off for the display.

In addition to this, this report would also inform the following add-on details to the customer pertains to each exploded line item to facilitate their planning and delivery process

1. Fulfilled quantities till date
2. Pending quantities for fulfillment till date
3. A quantity that could be fulfilled from Inventory based on on-hand stock and reservation
4. Quantities of sub-assemblies or raw materials that are to be procured based on present inventory stock
5. Preferred Vendors and purchase price of the products to be procured

This report could be run easily from a custom Suitlet page and pass on the list of parameters. With this Report the customer could effectively understand all the materials on-demand, purchase forecasting for single or set of open Sales orders that are pending to be fulfilled to the detailed level of sub-products and raw-materials to build assemblies and sub-assemblies.

To this problem, Kaladi Consulting has come up with a Custom build Solution, a Suitlet based page, that enables the customer to either upload or create a basic Quote or Sales Order with High-level Item groups and Assemblies and the background engine would automatically does a detailed BOM explosion to identify all the sub-products/items as part of these Assemblies and create a Quote or Sales order with 1000+ line items automatically.

In addition to this, our solution also provides a separate window, another Suitelet page, where the customer could query the existing Quotes or Sales Order or Customer Invoices with more than 1000+ items and selectively update specific line items with the ease of search parameters or add more line items as an amendment without any hurdles.

Hence the solution covers the pain area of handing record types with 1000+ line items/product lines starting from Quotation to Sales Order, Order to Customer Invoices, and Order to Order Fulfillment in a complete life cycle of the O2C.

With this solution, the creation of Quotation or Sales Order with even 3000+ line items for better costing and demand production happened to be seamlessly easy for our customer.
